Motion &
Emotion
The prompt for this video assignment was to create a 4-5 minute video collage comprised of several autonomous clips of under 1-minute duration. Interested in exploring the duality between motion and emotion, I filmed several objects found within my home or neighborhood that I felt evoked a sense of movement. For a sound accompaniment, my partner and I created a musical score in the style of Musique Concrète, using records from our collection that we felt captured emotion. I edited the video based on what I was feeling as I listened to the score, a process of reverse engineering.
