Skeptics & Believers

As part of my MFA thesis research, we were asked to develop a list of formal strategies that described our ways of making as graphic designers and generate a project that represented these formal strategies. To incorporate my ideas of time, chance, analog, collect, collaborate, and reference, I created a series of forms that explored the duality between skepticism and belief. I combined graphic and written elements from my favorite T.V. show characters, Fox Mulder (the believer) and Dana Scully (the skeptic), together on sheets of acetate to create photomontages.

To take the experiment one step further, I referenced the typographic style and formal qualities of the FBI, to screen print what I picture an official X-Files folder to look like.

Notes: Photomontage; silkscreen

Size:
18 x 24 inches (Posters, 2)
84 x 63 inches (Acetate prints, 5)
8.5 x 11 inches (Folders, 2)
