Betsy Ross
This poster is a reinterpretation of the Betsy Ross Flag, which originally had 13 stars to represent the original 13 colonies. For my version, I researched the meaning behind the flags of the 13 most popular cultures living in the United States currently. Instead of using the traditional flag imagery, I used text to reveal the meaning. My goal was to tell a story about the value of each culture in a way that people from the United States, who may not be familiar with the flags’ symbols, could understand.
