Identity
Booklet

In this publication, I explored the concept of identity through the lens of historical photographs of my hometown that were circulating around the internet at the time. Many photographs from the collection were taken in 1889, exactly 100 years before I was born. I paired the found photographs with personal statements to my dad, hidden in the language of Morse Code, set to a back drop of lyrics from “Ships in the Night” by Ryan Montbleau. The song is about how people enter and exit each other’s lives without ever truly connecting, an experience that resonates with me on a personal level.

Notes: Staple bound

Size: 5.5 x 8.5 inches; 12 pages
