BU Art
Galleries

As the first step to creating a visual system for all three of the Boston University art galleries known as BUAG, my collaborator and I researched the history and current climate around the three locations, Stone Gallery, Commonwealth Gallery, and 808 Gallery. We quickly determined that we needed to create an identity flexible enough to serve all three of the different gallery spaces. To solve this, we created a logo system that mimicked the layout of the three galleries, with module shapes that could shift and expand depending on which gallery was being represented.

To bring to life the qualities of inclusivity, diversity, locality, and accessibility within our brand, our print materials featured Boston-based artists and members of the LGBTQ community, many of whom are underrepresented in the art and design industry.
